On 13-17th of May, in Vilnius, Lithuania, NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence, in support of U.S. Naval Postgraduate School organized annual Energy Efficiency in Military Operations Course (EEMOC) for civilian and military personnel from NATO and Partner countries. The Course is designed to enhance awareness and knowledge on the importance of energy efficiency in military operations in order to apply innovative energy efficiency approaches to improve NATO capabilities at the operational level.
The Course learning objectives focused on understanding and addressing energy challenges in NATO military operations. They included summarizing strategy and policy challenges, emphasizing energy efficiency’s importance at all operational levels, identifying behavior changes, examining modern energy technologies, recognizing international best practices, implementing innovative solutions without compromising operations, constructing energy management plans, and understanding the link between energy efficiency and climate change. These objectives aimed to enhance energy security, operational effectiveness, and environmental sustainability in NATO operations.
During this course more than 30 participants took part in lectures, group discussions, syndicate work, as well as field trip to military camp and energy storage battery park.
