NATO Science and Technology Board, authorized the creation of SAS-163, a research task group (RTG) to focus on energy security in the era of hybrid warfare. Now comprising more than 80 researchers and subject matter experts from throughout the Alliance and partner states, the RTG will analyze the hybrid-energy threat and its impact on NATO’s military preparedness and ability to execute a mission, its members’ infrastructural resilience and ability to participate in a NATO mission, and, ultimately, the coherence of the Alliance. Vytautas Butrimas of the NATO ENSEC COE has been assigned to provide support and expertise with a focus on industrial cybersecurity.
